Every Riftbound Set, In Order (And What's Next)

Riftbound has released five sets so far, always in the same order shops and players refer to them in. Here's that order, with the real card count for each straight from our own database — not a marketing figure — plus what's actually confirmed to come next.

The sets, in order

Card counts are pulled from our own catalogue, not a press release, so "298" for Origins means 298 distinct base printings actually sit in our database with that set code — the same number printed on the card itself (Origins collector numbers run from 001/298 up to 298/298). We don't have confirmed release dates for Origins, Proving Grounds, Spirit Forged or Unleashed — Riot didn't publish exact street dates for those the way it later did for Vendetta and Radiance — but the order above is the order every set list, deck legality note and "what's next" post on the game agrees on.

Origins — the launch set

Origins is where Riftbound started, and it's still the biggest set by a wide margin: 298 base cards across every domain, plus 54 additional Showcase-rarity alternate printings of cards that already exist in the base 298 — 352 individual printings in total once you count both. Origins: Proving Grounds — the smallest set

At 24 cards, Proving Grounds is by far the smallest Riftbound release to date — closer to a focused companion set than a full expansion. It shares Origins' set-code family (OGS) and released not long after it.

Spirit Forged and Unleashed

The next two sets, Spirit Forged (SFD) and Unleashed (UNL), are similarly sized to each other: 222 and 225 base cards respectively, each with its own run of Showcase alternate printings (66 for Spirit Forged, 61 for Unleashed) on top. Between them they're the sets most current decks outside the newest formats are still built from.

Vendetta — the current set

Vendetta released on 31 July 2026 with 166 cards and introduced three new mechanics — Empower, Flow and Burn — none of which existed in any earlier set. It's the most recent set that's actually out, and the one every card page, price chart and deal on RiftCompare treats as "current" until Radiance lands.

What's next: Radiance and beyond

Radiance — Set 5 — is dated for 23 October 2026 with around 180 cards and five confirmed new champion Legends: Seraphine, Evelynn, Ekko, Ziggs and Jarvan IV. It's the only future set with a real, Riot-confirmed release date right now.

Beyond Radiance, Riot has mapped out the rest of 2027 — Legacy (Set 6, 29 Jan 2027, its biggest set yet at roughly 346 cards), The Reckoning (Set 7, 30 Apr 2027), and two further unnamed sets pencilled in for Q3 and Q4 2027.
