Market

One number for the Riftbound singles market, like a stock index for the game. Its basket is the most-searched cards on RiftCompare that have a price in the market you pick, each weighted by search volume and capped at 20%, so a chase card moves it more than a bulk common but no single card can carry it.

The level moves once a day with the price we record for every card — the cheapest across Australia, the US, the UK and Singapore, converted into this market's currency — and is chain-linked from 100: each step counts only cards priced at both ends, so a new set joining the basket does not jump it. What the RiftCompare Index is walks through the formula.

You're viewing the the United States market: a basket of its 200 most-searched priced cards, in USD. Switch markets with the selector above.

All-time price records & cross-market gaps → every card's highest and lowest recorded price, and the day it was set.

This month's market report → every market side by side, free to quote.

Methodology

The RiftCompare Index measures the price level of the Riftbound singles market that players actually trade. Its constituents are the 200 most-searched cards on RiftCompare with a live price in the selected market, weighted by search volume with a 20% cap per card — so a chase card moves the Index more than a bulk common, and no single card dominates it. The level is chain-linked, not a plain average: rather than averaging price levels at each snapshot, every step computes a percentage move using only cards priced at both that snapshot and the previous one, then applies that move to a running level starting at 100. That is what keeps a new set's cards climbing into the basket — or any other constituent turnover — from jumping the Index the moment they arrive: a debuting card has no earlier price to compare against, so it simply sits out the step it debuts on. An Index of 112 means the watched market is up 12% since tracking began. The full step-by-step formula is published in the methodology guide.

The Index defaults to the US market; pick a different region from the Market selector to see that market's own index, priced in its own local currency.

Key statistics. Index value is what it would cost to buy one copy of each card in the Index — the sum of every constituent's lowest in-stock price, in the market's currency. It is deliberately not a circulating-supply market cap: trading-card singles have no public float, so a true price×supply capitalisation can't be computed — this is the one-of-each basket value. Range is the index's own low–high over the tracked window (a 52-week-range analogue). Breadth counts how many constituents rose vs fell over the last 7 days, and volatility is the standard deviation of the index's most recent snapshot-to-snapshot moves.

Constituents are refreshed from live search data, so the basket evolves with the metagame; history is recomputed against the current basket for consistency. Each constituent's listed price is the current live figure; the Index's own level and chart update weekly, matching the price-history snapshot.
