Who writes RiftCompare

Two bylines, kept separate on purpose: writing composed by the people who run the site, and writing generated directly from our price database. Which one a piece carries tells you how it was produced.

We think that distinction is worth making explicit rather than blurring. A guide to storing cards, or to whether a set is worth opening, is a judgement someone made — it should carry a human byline and be arguable. A price snapshot is not a judgement; it is a query result with a fixed methodology, and dressing it up as analysis would be misleading about how much thought went into it. So the two never share a byline.

What neither byline is: an invented person. There is no stock photo and no fabricated biography here, because a name we made up would be worth less than no name at all — and would be a straightforward lie to anyone who checked. If that changes and a named person starts writing for the site, they will appear here under their own name.
