Riftbound Gift Guide 2026: What to Buy at Every Budget

The short version
- For someone new to Riftbound: a two-player Showdown Decks box (US$34.99 MSRP, from US$19.91 at a US store on 28 October) or a Champion Deck (from about US$15).
- For a player who already has decks: a Radiance Vault Bundle (US$34.99 MSRP) or the exact single cards on their wish list, which is almost always better value than packs.
- For a collector: a Radiance booster box, from US$116.59 in the US, £100 in the UK, €97.99 in the EU, C$179.95 in Canada and A$239.99 in Australia on 28 October.
- On Black Friday, compare against today's price, not the MSRP. Radiance boxes already sit at or under the US$120 MSRP at the cheapest stores, so a "deal" at MSRP is no deal.
Riftbound turned one this year and Radiance, its fifth set, launched on 23 October, so this is the first holiday season with a full shelf of products to choose from. Here is what to buy at each budget, who each product suits, and what it actually costs. Every price below is the cheapest in-stock store price in our catalogue on 28 October 2026; the sealed product page has today's numbers.
Under US$10: a booster pack or two
A single Radiance booster pack is the classic stocking filler. On 28 October the cheapest were US$5.74 in the US, £4.99 in the UK, C$7.95 in Canada and A$10.99 in Australia. Older-set packs cost about the same (Vendetta from US$4.93), except Origins, the launch set, whose packs now start around US$13.
A pack is a lottery ticket, not a deck. Buy one for the fun of opening it, not because the person needs cards.

US$15 to US$40: a ready-to-play deck
This is the best range for someone new to the game, or a player you want to get a second deck.
- Showdown Decks (Radiance: Evelynn vs Seraphine). Two complete decks in one box, built to play against each other, so it's a game for two out of the box. MSRP is US$34.99; on 28 October it was from US$19.91 at a US store, £21.99, €18.99, C$29.99 and A$49.99. The Vendetta Showdown Decks are still around and slightly cheaper (from US$15.99).
- Champion Decks. A single pre-built deck around one Legend. The Unleashed Vi deck was the easiest to find, from US$15.08, £15, C$17.99 and A$25.99, and the Spirit Forged decks (Rumble and Fiora) from about US$20.
- Proving Grounds. The original boxed starter was from US$49.95 in the US but only £29 in the UK and €25.99 in the EU. If you can wait, Proving Grounds 2nd Edition arrives on 19 February 2027 at US$39.99, with four decks (Heimerdinger, Karma, Vladimir and Illaoi) for two to four new players.
New players will also want sleeves and a deck box; the card size guide lists what fits.
US$35 to US$70: the Radiance Vault Bundle
The bundle is the middle option: a handful of packs plus extras in a gift-shaped box. MSRP is US$34.99, and on 28 October the cheapest were US$35 in the US, £33.95, €28.90, C$57.99 and A$65. It's a good present for someone who already plays and likes opening packs, but per pack it costs more than a box.
For a player: buy their wish list
If the person already plays, the most useful gift is the exact cards they want. It's also the cheapest way to get them: the whole 167-card Radiance base set cost about US$113 in singles on 28 October, less than a single booster box, and most playable cards cost under a dollar.
Ask for their list (most players keep one), paste it into the deck builder and it prices every card at the cheapest store in your market. If you'd rather not guess, a store gift card from one of the shops on our store list does the same job.
Not sure what they play? Ask which Legend their main deck is built around. Each Legend is a League of Legends champion, and the champion's page lists every card of theirs in every set with live prices, so you can pick a card for their deck, or a premium printing of their favourite, without knowing the meta. If they play one of Radiance's nine new Legends, the Epic numbered right after it (Blade of the ExileUS$35.00 for Riven, The BallUS$9.45 for Orianna) is almost always on the list.
US$100 and up: a booster box
A booster box (24 packs) is the big present for a collector or someone who loves opening packs. On 28 October the cheapest Radiance boxes were:
| Market | Cheapest box | Typical store price |
|---|---|---|
| US | US$116.59 | about US$140 |
| UK | £100 | about £117 |
| Eurozone | €97.99 | about €125 |
| Canada | C$179.95 | about C$210 |
| Australia | A$239.99 | about A$245 |
Vendetta boxes cost about the same (from US$119.99, £109.95). Origins and Spirit Forged boxes are now much dearer outside the US, so they suit a collector more than a player.
Before buying a box for value rather than fun, read whether a box is worth opening. For a collector who has everything, Legacy pre-orders open the door to Set 6 on 29 January 2027.

Gifts that aren't cards
Plenty of Riftbound players have more cards than they need. These are the presents they tend to want anyway:
- Sleeves. Every serious player sleeves their deck, and sleeves wear out. Riftbound cards are standard TCG size, so any standard-size sleeve fits; the card size guide covers which brands and how many to buy. A 100-pack of good sleeves costs about the same as two booster packs.
- A deck box. One that holds a sleeved 40-card deck plus Runes, Battlefields and a Legend. Players who carry two or three decks to a store night will use a second one.
- A playmat. Riot and many stores sell Riftbound playmats, and they're the one accessory people show off. Check the mat is the standard 24 by 14 inch size so it fits a store table.
- A binder. For a collector, a side-loading binder for alt arts and Showcase cards. How to store and protect your cards explains what's worth paying for.
- An event entry. A local store's weekly Nexus Night usually costs little, and players can earn promo cards there. Bigger: Legacy's Pre-Rift events run 22 to 28 January 2027, a week before the set's release, and an entry makes a good Christmas IOU. How Pre-Rift works explains the format.
Gifts for a collector who has everything
If the person already owns the sets, think premium printings rather than more packs.
- A Showcase or Signature card of their favourite champion. Every champion has a page listing all of their printings with live prices, from the base card to the Signature; the champions index is the place to start. Radiance's over-numbered Showcase Legends started at about US$54 on 28 October, and alt arts at under US$10.
- A graded card. A PSA, BGS or CGC slab of a card they love is a display piece. The grading guide explains the grades, and each card page shows graded listings where they exist.
- A metal card. The rarest Riftbound cards are metal Prize Wall and Best Of Legends, won or traded for at events. They run into thousands of dollars; every metal card and its price is listed in one place.
What to avoid
A few mistakes come up every holiday season:
- Resealed or "mystery" boxes. Buy sealed product from a real store, not a marketplace seller with a stock photo. A box whose shrink wrap looks wrong, or a "repack" of unknown packs, is not the same product.
- The wrong language. Riftbound is printed in English and Simplified Chinese, and the two look alike in small listing photos. If the person plays at an English-speaking store, check the listing says English.
- Paying double for a sold-out product. Launch-week bundles and Showdown Decks sometimes sell out at stores and appear on marketplaces at twice the MSRP. Usually they return to store shelves within weeks; the Radiance pre-order follow-up showed marketplace premiums falling by a third or more within a fortnight.
- Buying the wrong game. Riftbound is the League of Legends card game. If you're shopping for someone who plays Legends of Runeterra, the digital game, ask first: is there a League of Legends card game? explains the difference.
Black Friday and Cyber Monday: what a real deal looks like
Black Friday falls on 27 November this year. Some stores will discount Riftbound, but three things are worth knowing first:
- Compare with today's price, not the MSRP. The cheapest Radiance boxes were already at or under the US$120 MSRP a week after launch. A "Black Friday price" of US$120 is the normal price.
- Ignore the crossed-out price. A "was US$180" tag means nothing if five other stores sold it for US$125 last week. Check the live price on the Radiance set page or the sealed page before you buy.
- Add postage. A box that's US$5 cheaper but costs US$15 more to ship isn't a deal, so check each store's postage before you pay.
If you're waiting for a particular card to drop, a free price alert emails you when it does, so you don't have to watch for it.
Ordering in time for Christmas
Stores set their own Christmas postage cut-offs, usually in mid-December for domestic orders and earlier for international ones. Order from a store in your own country where you can: are Riftbound cards cheaper in another country? shows why the saving abroad usually disappears once postage and import tax are added. Our buying guides cover the stores in the US, the UK, Canada, Australia and Europe.

Frequently asked questions
What is a good Riftbound gift for a beginner?
A Showdown Decks box, which holds two ready-to-play decks so two people can learn together, or a single Champion Deck if they already have someone to play with. Both are cheaper than a booster box and need nothing else to start.
Should I buy booster packs or single cards as a gift?
For a player, single cards from their wish list are better value: a whole Radiance base set cost about US$113 in singles on 28 October, less than one booster box. Packs and boxes make sense for someone who enjoys opening them, or a collector chasing Showcase cards.
Will Riftbound be cheaper on Black Friday 2026?
Some stores will discount, but Radiance booster boxes were already selling at or below the US$120 MSRP at the cheapest stores in late October. Compare any Black Friday price with the live lowest price on RiftCompare rather than with the MSRP or a crossed-out 'was' price.
What Riftbound product comes out next?
Legacy, Riot's Set 6, releases on 29 January 2027 and is already on pre-order. Proving Grounds 2nd Edition, a US$39.99 boxed starter with four Champion decks for two to four new players, follows on 19 February 2027.
