How to Buy Riftbound Cards on the RiftCompare Marketplace
RiftCompare has always compared prices across stores — now you can also buy directly from other players through the RiftCompare Marketplace, a built-in P2P marketplace with buyer protection baked in. Here's exactly how it works, start to finish.
1. Find a listing
Marketplace listings show up two places:
- The marketplace grid — browse every active listing in your market, filter by card, and see each seller's shop, condition and price.
- Right inside the price comparison. If a seller's price beats every store for a card, it appears as a normal row on that card's page, tagged "RiftCompare Marketplace." You don't have to go looking for it separately — it's just another price to compare.
Every listing shows the card's condition (Near Mint through Damaged), whether it's foil, the seller's shop name and rating, and a price in your local currency. Listings only show sellers shipping within your own market — no cross-border shipping surprises.
2. Check out
Add what you want to your cart and check out through Stripe — the same secure checkout used for card payments everywhere else. You'll see the item price, an estimated shipping cost, and the total before you confirm.
Your payment does not go straight to the seller. It's held by RiftCompare until the order is actually delivered — that's the whole point of buying through the marketplace instead of a direct message or a forum trade.
3. What happens after you pay
- The seller gets notified immediately and has 14 days to ship your order and add tracking. If they don't, you're automatically refunded in full — no back-and-forth required.
- Once they mark it shipped, you'll get an email with the carrier and tracking number, plus an estimated delivery window.
- Your money stays held the whole time your order is in transit.
4. Confirm delivery (or let it auto-release)
When your card arrives, open My orders and tap "Got it" to confirm delivery — this instantly releases the seller's payout and closes out the order.
Forget to confirm? No problem — funds auto-release 14 days after the order ships either way, so a seller never gets stuck waiting on you to click a button. You can also message the seller directly from the order if you want to check in before then.
5. Message the seller
Every order has a built-in chat thread with the seller — ask about shipping, condition, anything. No need to hunt down a Discord or trade forum to sort out a question about your order.
6. If something goes wrong
Tap "Report a problem" on the order. This pauses the scheduled release immediately and puts a real person on it — not an automated dispute bot. Common cases:
- Never shipped in time → automatic full refund, no report needed.
- Item not as described / damaged / never arrived → report it and we'll sort out a refund.
- Just have a question first? Message the seller before it becomes a problem — most things are a shipping delay, not a scam.
Why this is different from a normal trade
Buying from a random seller in a Discord server or Facebook group means sending money and hoping. On the RiftCompare Marketplace, your payment is never released until you have the card in hand (or the deadline passes with no dispute) — the platform is the thing standing between "I paid" and "I got scammed," not your judgment of a stranger's profile picture.
The marketplace is new, so if anything looks off, there's a "Found a bug? Report it" link on every marketplace page that comes straight to us.
