RiftCompare Marketplace Fees Just Dropped to 2% (1% for Premium)
Starting today, selling on the RiftCompare Marketplace costs less — a lot less. The platform fee is down from 5% to 2%, and if you're a Premium member it's just 1%. No tiers to unlock, no minimum sales volume to hit first — the rate applies automatically, from your very next sale.
What actually changed
- Standard sellers: 5% → 2% on every completed sale.
- Premium sellers: 1% — half the standard rate, on top of everything else Premium already includes (Value Finder, Rising Cards, the full Deal Finder list, Best Basket, and an ad-free site).
- Evaluated per sale, not per listing. The rate that applies is whatever your account status is at the moment a sale completes — upgrade to Premium today, and your very next sale is charged at 1%, even on a listing you posted weeks ago.
- Nothing else changes. Same escrow protection, same 14-day ship deadline, same buyer-side experience. This is purely a fee cut.
Why we did this
RiftCompare's marketplace exists to make it easier — and cheaper — for players to buy and sell directly with each other. A lower fee means more of every sale actually lands in the seller's pocket, which matters most while the marketplace is still building up its base of real listings from real players.
It's also just a better deal than the alternatives. Cardmarket, the biggest general TCG marketplace, charges sellers a tiered commission — 5% for a standard "Private" seller, dropping to 3% or 1.5% only once you qualify for its Professional/Powerseller tiers — plus a Trustee Service fee (0.5–1%) and a 3% currency-conversion charge on cross-border sales, landing around 6–8% all-in for most casual sellers. RiftCompare's 2% (or 1% with Premium) beats that from the first sale, with no tiers to climb and no currency-conversion surprise.
What you actually take home
Say you sell a card for $20:
| | Fee | You receive | |---|---|---| | Standard | 2% ($0.40) | $19.60 | | Premium | 1% ($0.20) | $19.80 |
Your seller dashboard and Seller Funds page always show the exact numbers before you list and after you sell — no need to do this math yourself.
Selling for the first time?
Any signed-in, email-verified user can list a card in a couple of minutes from the seller dashboard. Payouts go through Stripe Connect once you've completed a quick identity check, and buyer payments are held in escrow until delivery is confirmed — full details in how buyer protection works.
Already selling? The new rate applies automatically — nothing to change, nothing to opt into. Check Seller Funds to see it reflected on your next completed sale.
