# Radiance Pull Rates: What's in a Pack, and the Ultimate Rare

_2026-10-25 · RiftCompare_

What is in a Riftbound Radiance pack, slot by slot, the official odds of the Packed Amphitheater Ultimate Rare, and what a box can and cannot promise.

**What is actually in a Riftbound Radiance pack?** Riot publishes the layout of every pack and the odds of its rarest card, and that is enough to answer most of what people search for: what each slot can hold, how rare the Ultimate Rare really is, and what a box can and cannot promise. Riot does not publish the odds of every slot, so where a number is not Riot's, this post says whose it is.

## What's in a Radiance booster pack

Each Radiance booster pack holds **14 cards**:

| Slot | What it holds |
|---|---|
| 7 | Commons |
| 3 | Uncommons |
| 1 | Foil |
| 1 | Rare or Epic |
| 1 | Rare, Epic, alternate art, special alternate art, overnumbered or Ultimate Rare |
| 1 | Token, Rune or alternate-art Rune |

The second-to-last slot is the one that matters. Every Showcase alternate art, the five **[K/DA special cards](/blog/riftbound-kda-cards)** (SP1 to SP5), the overnumbered Legends and HEARTSTEEL units, and the Ultimate Rare all come from it.

## The Ultimate Rare: Packed Amphitheater

Radiance's **Ultimate Rare is Packed Amphitheater, a Battlefield numbered 184/167**. Riot puts it in **about 0.025% of packs**, roughly **one in 4,000**. That makes it about four times rarer than the Baron Ultimate Rare, at 0.1%.

[[embed:0]]

What that rate means in practice:

- **A pack:** about 1 in 4,000.
- **A 24-pack booster display:** about a 0.6% chance, or 1 display in 167.
- **A case:** still not guaranteed. Riot is explicit that no pack, box or case is guaranteed an Ultimate Rare.

One public opening of **330 packs** by tcgtalk found one. That is a lucky result, not a better rate, and it is the best illustration of why nobody should open boxes to chase this card.

## The chase slot

Most of a pack's value is in that one flexible slot. These are the cards it can hold.

[[embed:1]]

- **Showcase alternate arts:** 18 lettered printings (020a to 138a), new art for Legends and champions.
- **K/DA specials:** SP1 to SP5, Ahri, Akali, Evelynn, Kai'Sa and Seraphine in K/DA art.
- **Overnumbered:** the nine Legend overnumbers (168 to 176), Ekko, Revolutionary (177) and the six HEARTSTEEL cards (178 to 183).
- **The Ultimate Rare:** Packed Amphitheater (184).

The **[Radiance Signature cards](/blog/riftbound-radiance-signature-cards)**, the signed versions of the overnumbered cards, are rarer still, and their odds are not published.

## Radiance by the numbers

Riot's card gallery lists **219 Radiance printings**, and RiftCompare tracks 16 Signatures on top of them:

| Group | Numbers | Printings |
|---|---|---|
| Base set | 001 to 167 | 167 |
| Overnumbered Legends | 168 to 176 | 9 |
| Ekko, Revolutionary | 177 | 1 |
| HEARTSTEEL overnumbered | 178 to 183 | 6 |
| Ultimate Rare | 184 | 1 |
| Alternate arts | 020a to 138a | 18 |
| K/DA specials | SP1 to SP5 | 5 |
| Runes and alternate-art runes | R01 to R06, R01a to R06a | 12 |
| Signatures (not in Riot's gallery) | 168* to 183*, 174a* | 16 |

By rarity, the gallery's 219 printings split into **54 Common, 46 Uncommon, 45 Rare, 28 Epic and 46 Showcase**. The commons and uncommons fill ten of a pack's fourteen slots, which is why a full set of them costs little, and why a display's value sits almost entirely in its 24 chase slots.

## What a Radiance display can and cannot promise

A 24-pack booster display gives you **24 chase-slot cards**: one per pack. Most of them will be Rares and Epics, because Riot does not raise the odds of the special printings just because you bought a whole display. What you can count on:

- **24 foils**, one per pack.
- **24 Rares or Epics** from the fixed slot, plus whatever the chase slot adds.
- **240 commons and uncommons**, enough for most of the base set's lower rarities.

What you cannot count on: any particular alternate art, any overnumbered card, any K/DA special, and above all the Ultimate Rare. Riot publishes only the Ultimate Rare's rate. Anyone quoting exact odds for the other chase printings is quoting their own openings, which is a sample, not a rate.

## How Radiance compares with the next set

Radiance's pack is the last of its shape. **Legacy, out 29 January 2027**, replaces one of the seven Common slots with a slot that is roughly a 50/50 Legend or Battlefield, so a Legacy pack has six Commons. Showcase Legends and Battlefields stay in the overnumbered slot. If you are deciding whether to open Radiance or wait, the **[Legacy pre-orders](/legacy-preorders)** page compares what stores are already asking.

## What to do with what you pull

Most of a display is cards you will never play. A sensible order:

- **Sleeve the chase slot straight away.** Overnumbered cards and K/DA specials lose value fast with a scratch or a bent corner, and a card you might grade needs to be kept flat from the moment it leaves the pack.
- **Check every rare against its live price** before deciding what to keep. Many Radiance Rares and Epics are worth more than the pack that held them; many are worth far less.
- **Group the bulk by set number.** Commons and uncommons sell best as a complete or near-complete set, and a numbered stack makes the gaps easy to see.
- **Keep the runes.** Alternate-art runes are in demand from players finishing a deck.

## Track your own pulls

The **[Radiance pull tracker](/tools/pull-tracker)** logs what you open, pack by pack, and adds up what your pulls are worth at today's prices. Shared openings are the only way anyone learns how often the unpriced chase printings appear, so every logged pack makes the picture clearer.

## The odds, display by display

Riot's 0.025% is a per-pack chance, and it does not add up the way people expect. The chance of at least one Packed Amphitheater across a number of 24-pack displays:

| Displays opened | Packs | Chance of at least one Ultimate Rare |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 24 | 0.6% |
| 2 | 48 | 1.19% |
| 5 | 120 | 2.96% |
| 10 | 240 | 5.82% |
| 20 | 480 | 11.31% |
| 50 | 1,200 | 25.92% |

Even fifty displays, at a US$120 distributor price each, leave roughly a three-in-four chance of never seeing one. Odds like these are why the card's price is set by how few exist, not by how many boxes people open.

## The chase-slot words, explained

Sellers and box-opening videos use these terms loosely. On a Radiance card they mean:

- **Alternate art (020a to 138a):** a second printing of a base card with new art, numbered with a letter after the base number.
- **Special alternate art (SP1 to SP5):** the K/DA cards, numbered on their own SP run out of five.
- **Overnumbered (168 to 183):** a card numbered above the set's 167, foil, with new art. The nine Legends and the HEARTSTEEL cards are overnumbered.
- **Signature (168* to 183*):** an overnumbered card with a signature printed in foil across it, marked by an asterisk after the number.
- **Ultimate Rare (184):** Packed Amphitheater, the single rarest printing in the set.

A listing that says "overnumbered" but shows a number at or below 167 is a different card; check the number in the corner, not the title.

## What the first week's prices say

Radiance released on 23 October, and its chase printings opened high. On release day TCGplayer had the Mordekaiser Signature at US$999.99, the Aphelios HEARTSTEEL Signature at US$993.25 and the Orianna Signature at US$500; the Riven overnumber was at US$472 and the Seraphine overnumber at US$315. An Evelynn overnumber sold for US$400 and then fell below US$300 within days (figures from TheGamer's release-day round-up). Packed Amphitheater had been listed at US$2,999.99 a week before release.

Early prices in Riftbound tend to fall as more boxes are opened: Vendetta's median overnumbered unit cost US$177 four days before release and US$73 two months later, as **[Radiance chase cards](/blog/riftbound-radiance-chase-cards)** sets out. If you are buying a chase card rather than opening for it, the weeks after release are usually cheaper than release week.

## Should you open Radiance or buy singles?

If you want to open product, open it. If you want specific cards, buy them: a single is a known price, and a pack is a ticket to a slot whose odds Riot mostly does not publish.

Two tools on RiftCompare answer the rest with live numbers:

- The **[box EV calculator](/tools/box-ev)** works out what an average Radiance display is worth from current singles prices.
- The **[Radiance card list](/sets/radiance)** shows every card's cheapest price across the stores we track, so you can price your pulls, or skip them.
