# Riftbound K'Sante Spoiler: Pride of Nazumah

K'Sante's first Riftbound cards have surfaced: Pride of Nazumah, his Radiance Legend, and signature spell Ntofo Strikes — what both cards do, and why.

**K'Sante just went from zero Riftbound cards to two.** For a champion this popular, that first number is the surprising one: until 25 September, K'Sante — the Pride of Nazumah, one of League's marquee tanks and a member of the HEARTSTEEL line-up — did not exist in this game in any form. Not a scarce printing, not an old one. Nothing. As Preview Season opened, that changed twice over: his Legend, **Pride of Nazumah**, and his signature spell, **Ntofo Strikes**, both surfaced.

We flagged this one coming. When HEARTSTEEL's "LIVE MY LIFE" video put band-art Riftbound cards on a table for five of its six members, the [write-up we did on those cards](/blog/riftbound-heartsteel-cards) kept returning to the same gap: K'Sante was the one member with no card at all, so if Radiance carried HEARTSTEEL in any complete form, his first-ever card *had* to be in it. That was, in our words at the time, "a specific, falsifiable thing to watch for." It has now come off the list.

## What surfaced

Two cards, read straight off the reveal images. First the Legend:

## One idea, printed twice: Shield is a weapon

Read the two cards together and the archetype is impossible to miss. Both of them do the same thing — **they turn Shield, a defensive stat, into offense** — and the flavor text says so out loud: *sometimes a warden must become a warrior.* That is K'Sante's entire kit in League compressed into a design line, and Riftbound has built his cards around it rather than around a raw statline.

**Pride of Nazumah** is the engine. For one energy and a tap of the Legend, it hands a friendly unit *"I have Assault equal to my Shield"* for the turn. Assault is damage a unit deals when it attacks; Shield is the buffer that keeps a unit alive. Stapling one to the other means the sturdiest wall on your board — the unit nobody wanted to attack into — suddenly swings for as much as it was soaking. And because it is an activated ability on your Legend, it comes back every single turn. That is the kind of repeatable value that decides what a deck is *for*.

**Ntofo Strikes** is the same trick in spell form, and faster. Two energy gives a unit Shield 2 and then throws that Shield at an enemy as damage — a two-for-one that both protects your board and removes a piece of theirs, in one card, at instant speed (it is an Action, playable in showdowns). The reminder text spells out why the Shield 2 matters beyond the ping: *a unit with Shield has +1 Might for each instance of Shield while it's a defender*, so the same card that deals the damage also makes the shielded unit tougher to attack into afterward.

Put the Legend and the spell in the same deck and you can see the shape of it: build a board of durable, shielded units, then convert that durability into reach whenever you need it — a chip of damage from the spell, a big swing from the Legend. It is a defensive deck with an offensive button, which is exactly the fantasy a K'Sante player wants — the wall that decides, on its own terms, when to stop being a wall. Whether that is strong enough to define a Radiance archetype is a question for real cards and a real format; the intent, though, could not be clearer.

## Calm and Body — resilience with teeth

K'Sante's cards carry two domain gems: **Calm** (the green sprout) and **Body** (the orange emblem). It is a fitting pair. [Calm](/domains/calm) is the domain of growth and resilience; [Body](/domains/body) is endurance and physical power. Between them they describe a champion who wins by outlasting you and then, once he has, hitting back — which is precisely what the two cards do.

On RiftCompare each card is filed under the first of its two domains, Calm, the same way every two-domain Legend in the catalogue is stored; the Body half is the shield-and-endurance side that actually carries the game plan. When you are building, treat him as a card that wants both rune types available, not one.

## Why the debut itself is the story

It is easy to skip past, so it is worth sitting on: **this is a champion's entire arrival in the game.** Most Radiance reveals are a new card for a champion who already has several. K'Sante had none. That makes Pride of Nazumah his equivalent of a first impression — the printing that establishes how the game reads him — and it is a good one, because it commits to a real identity (Shield-to-offense) rather than a generic beater.

It also lands his debut inside a skin line's gravity. K'Sante's higher-profile appearance this autumn was in the [HEARTSTEEL "LIVE MY LIFE" stills](/blog/riftbound-heartsteel-cards), where a band-art K'Sante card sat on the table alongside Kayn, Ezreal, Aphelios and Sett. *Corrected 26 September:* this paragraph first said Pride of Nazumah was the card underneath that HEARTSTEEL K'Sante. It is not. Riot's official HEARTSTEEL graphic showed the band-art K'Sante as a different card altogether — **[K'Sante, Courageous](/card/k-sante-courageous-rad-178-167)**, a Body Champion Unit numbered RAD 178/167 — so his HEARTSTEEL card and his Legend are two different cards, not two printings of one. ## What we are not claiming

The usual line between what is on the card and what would be a guess:

- **We are treating this as a sighting, not an official confirmation.** The cards appear in reveal footage as Preview Season opens, which is strong — but our [confirmed-facts page](/blog/riftbound-radiance-what-we-know) still counts the Legends Riot has formally named, and K'Sante was not among that group. His cards being visible is logged on the [spoiler tracker](/blog/riftbound-radiance-spoilers); the official count moves when Riot's own reveal does.
- **The 146/167 number on Ntofo Strikes was read under a video caption** that sat across the bottom of that card, so treat it as read-with-care rather than pristine. The Legend's 172/167 is clean.
- **Ntofo Strikes' rarity is not legible** — the gem that shows it was behind the same caption. Its base-run number tells us it is an in-set card, not an over-numbered chase like the Legend, but the exact tier waits for a clean image.
- **The ordinary in-set Pride of Nazumah has not been seen.** 172/167 is the over-numbered Showcase treatment; a base-numbered printing at or below 167 is expected and simply has not surfaced.

## What this means if you are buying

The same rules as every pre-release card, because they are the ones that keep money in your pocket.

**Do not buy a K'Sante single yet.** There is no Radiance secondary market — the set does not release until **23 October 2026**. Anything sold as a Pride of Nazumah today is a pre-sale against a card nobody can deliver.

**Know where he is — and is not.** The set's beginner product, the Showdown Decks, is *Seraphine vs. Evelynn*; K'Sante is not in it. That makes **boosters** the route to his cards, which is worth knowing before you buy a precon expecting to open a K'Sante deck. **When singles land, read the number before the name.** With a 172/167 over-number already shown and a base printing still to come, "Pride of Nazumah" will shortly mean more than one object at more than one price — and the HEARTSTEEL K'Sante, Courageous (RAD 178/167) is a different card again. The collector number is what tells them apart, and it is the first thing our matcher reads off a listing.
