# Riftbound's 2027 Set Roadmap: Radiance, Legacy, The Reckoning and Two Unnamed Sets

Riot has mapped Riftbound's releases through 2027 — Radiance in October, Legacy in January, The Reckoning in April, and two unnamed sets after. What each means if you're buying.

Riot published two announcements on 4 August 2026 — a product and set rundown through 2027, and an August State of the Game. Between them, the Riftbound release calendar is now visible about fifteen months ahead, which is the longest runway the game has had.

## The calendar at a glance

Two things stand out before any of the detail. First, the cadence is roughly quarterly and now stated in advance, which is a meaningful change from finding out a set's date a few weeks ahead. Second, set sizes are moving around a lot — 180, then 346, then 264 — and set size is the single most underrated variable in what a card ends up costing.

## Radiance (Set 5) — 23 October 2026

Radiance is the near-term one, and the only set on this list you will be buying this year. It brings Seraphine, Evelynn, Ekko, Ziggs and Jarvan IV, with a card pool around 180 — a step up from [Vendetta's](/sets/vendetta) 166.

The pattern we have watched through four launches now is consistent enough to plan around: sealed is at its most expensive in the launch window, chase singles spike hardest in the first fortnight, and the mid-value playables drift down for about a month as supply catches up. ## Legacy (Set 6) — 29 January 2027

Legacy is the set to actually plan around, for three separate reasons.

**It is enormous.** Around 346 cards is roughly double Radiance and more than double Vendetta. A bigger set means each individual card is a smaller slice of the print run, which historically pushes commons and uncommons cheaper while concentrating value at the top of the rarity ladder.

**It is built for draft.** Riot has described Legacy as the first set designed specifically with drafting in mind. Draft-first design tends to mean more playable commons and a flatter power curve — good for players, and usually bad for the price of any single common.

**The packs themselves change.** A common slot is being replaced with a slot that is either a Legend or a Battlefield, at roughly even odds. That takes Legacy boosters from seven commons to six, and it applies to Legacy and every set after it.

## The Reckoning (Set 7) — 30 April 2027

The Reckoning lands three months after Legacy at around 264 cards, built around League's biggest champions. "Biggest champions" is the phrase collectors should note — the most expensive cards in this game have consistently been premium treatments of the most popular characters, not the mechanically strongest cards. ## Sets 8 and 9 — Q3 and Q4 2027

These are placeholders. No names, no champions, no themes — just two slots on a calendar, confirming the quarterly cadence continues to the end of 2027.

That is genuinely useful information even without detail, because it tells you rotation and reprint pressure will keep arriving on a predictable schedule. It is not information you can trade on.

## What this actually means if you're buying

**Set size is your best early signal.** Legacy at ~346 cards will dilute individual pull rates more than any set so far. If you are buying commons and uncommons to build decks, Legacy should be the cheapest set per card the game has had. If you are chasing premium prints, the opposite applies.

**Dates announced this far out move.** Fifteen months of runway is a plan, not a promise. Treat the 2027 dates as directional and the October 2026 date as firm.

**Nothing here is a reason to buy today.** There is no 2027 product to buy yet, and the announcement itself does not change the value of anything already in your collection. The one thing worth doing now is deciding which champions you care about, so you can [watchlist their cards](/alerts) before the next preview season rather than during it.

**Watch the run-up, not the launch.** Prices on existing cards move when a new set is previewed, because a champion returning in a new set drives demand for their older printings. [The daily movers](/movers) is where that shows up first.
